Hello everyone
Here’s hoping that everyone had a great weekend! On Saturday, we did garden work and I started on my homework project of cleaning my office. Some of the design things I ordered are starting to arrive, so I need to make space for them. Yesterday, I cleaned the rest of our home. With hardly any rain over the past week, we have a high pollen count. If you ever suffer from allergies, you know what that does to you.
We switched our ceiling fans over to the summer mode. Another great way to save on energy efficiency! As I was cleaning, it got me thinking about what’s new and trendy for in home products. Are there new products that are easier to clean, smudge proof, sleek, and dare I say, sexy?
I like a bathroom that doesn’t have a lot clutter. Clean and simple are for me. So when I saw this ad on television from Kohler, I had to research it. It’s a flipside shower head! How cool is this? It’s four shower heads in one. All you do is flip it for your desired setting. You don’t need all those jet spray heads in your shower area anymore. Now you only need one! Kohler, clever as they are, named the four showerheads beginning with “ko”: Koverage, Kurrent, Komotion and Komb. Click here to see how it works. I want one now, but I’m not sure which flip side is best to use first.
From Moen, a MotionSense kitchen faucet. You have three choices in how the faucet can be turned on–wave sensor just by waving your hand above the faucet, ready sensitive, putting your hand underneath the faucet and, of course, just turn the handle. Think about all those times when you wash the handle of the faucet after handling meats, fish and chicken. Such a timesaver! Fabulous idea!
A one blade ceiling fan! The Enigma by Fanimation. Unlike traditional ceiling fans that use multiple blades to move air, The Enigma uses just one sleek blade to produce a powerful airflow. Also it has an energy star rating! Not much cleaning here, as its only one blade! I can live with that.
It would be a remiss of me not to mention Dyson and his product lines. He’s a master of invention! The way he looks at existing products and recreates them in such a way that it makes vacuuming easy and pleasurable at the same time. His vacuum cleaners are outfitted with HEPA filters that can be washed– this is very eco-friendly as it saves on buying new bags. For allergy sufferers, there are motorized brush heads for powerful allergen removal and pet-hair pick-up.
For everyone who has a carpet or a rug, there comes a time when you want to change it. Perhaps you want a different color or pattern. Or you want it to reflect the season. Or it’s damaged because the kids have dropped food or paint on it. Ever heard of carpet tiles? No? Check out this company FLOR, as they specialize in nothing but carpet tiles. There are no nails or messy glues for installation; just use the FLOR dot adhesives, included with your order, on top of your wood flooring. Cleaning? Piece of cake! Just rinse in the sink with a mild detergent or dry clean. How simple is that?
In a dining area…
Well, these are some my helpful hints on how to make housework less difficult and time consuming. Look at products that have clean lines and don’t have lots of curves and crevices. And make sure they’re washable too. I think the products I’ve described here would be a great addition to any busy homemaker.
I hope your week has started off with a smile! Remember to keep on being inspired!
Simone
