Decorating with Color
Nothing says personal design like color choice. We all have our favorites and they say a lot about our who we are as and individual. That can also be applied to your choice in your home interior design color schemes.
Color Matters! Proper color choice can be the difference between a home that exhibits a warm and welcoming environment versus one that showcases a lonely and cold one.
Don’t be afraid to experiment with color on walls; not only do vibrant colors make a room look bigger, they are a contrast to earth toned neutrals.
Don’t like it? You can always repaint.
Thankfully, unlike the paints of yesteryear’s, most of them today are eco-friendly and have been produced from water soluble materials.
In my home, each room on every floor is painted using various shades of brown.
Want an alternative to paint? Consider wallpaper!
Wallpapers have come a long way with the designs, textures, and most importantly, easy installation. Wallpaper has “grown up;” there are many choices in stenciling, color and textures. They seem so realistic, sometimes you have to touch the wall to determine if it’s paint or wallpaper. I myself have been caught unaware sometimes and decided the only way to know for sure was to “squeeze the Charmin.”
Do not worry, if you live in a home that is incapable of using paint and wallpaper, you can still add a splash of color by adding; contrasting pillows, throws and other colorful accessories.
It does not matter how you add the color only that you do.
Come color your world with me as we discuss how to add a splash of color to create something truly unique!
I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.
